Fighter-Bomber Group of WWII was comprised of the 323rd, 324th,
325th, and 443rd Fighter Squadrons. They flew P-47 Thunderbolts.
Activated in May 1943, the Group flew its first mission in Europe
in February 1944 , and its last on May 8, 1945. This book is #53
of a limited edition of 2,000 copies published in 1975. A rare
book to begin with, a copy with a number this low is very rarely
seen as most of the early numbers went to Group members and were
passed down to their children/granchildren. In addition to the
author's signature (himself a Group member), the book was also
signed by 15 other Group members at a reunion. All of the
signatures are on the Front Free End Paper (the first blank page
just inside the front cover). One of the 15 has also signed on
one of the text pages. The book was also signed by General
Charles A. (Chuck) Horner who commanded all U.S. and Allied air
operations in Iraq during Desert Storm. The book has 623 pages
with about 500 photos, a roster, a list of individual combat
