brochure with many photos and illustrations, printed on glossy
paper. Cover is a process known as "Autochromography"
and was done by Andrey Avinoff. Wear along edges of oversized

[CS0516] 8-1/2" x 11" 20 page sales brochure on
the "Sikorsky Amphibion S-38". Descriptive brochure on
the advantages of an amphibian over land based aircraft, plus a
comprehensive technical description of the S-38. Very rare as
with most Sikorsky items. This brochure was issued when Sikorsky
was still located at College Point, NY. Circa 1928. Has General
Motors Research Laboratories library stamp & label on cover.
A sigle-sided 8-1/4" x 10-3/4" sales sheet with photo
of the interior is also inserted in the back. VG minus. $225.00

the "Sikorsky Model S-38 Twin Motor Amphibian". This is
from the period just before Sikorsky joined with United Aircraft
and Transport Corp. The company was still located at College
Point, L. I., NY. Brochure shows and discusses the earlier
Whirlwind powered S-36 and describes improvements resulting in
the Pratt & Whitney "Wasp" powered S-38. A very
scarce and unique brochure. Circa 1928. VG. $180.00

S-43 Amphibion. Provides specifications of the aircraft plus a
technical write up. Cover has removable blue cellophane wrapper.
2 holes punched in left margin. Sikorsky business card is
inserted in slots on first page. Also has a clear plastic
"Range-Time Scale" paperclipped to map page. Circa

[CS0526] Set of fourteen (14)
sheets of microfilm containing over 700 pages of Igor Sikorsky's
personal design notes from October 1926 up to August 1938.
Periods covered are:Oct. 1926-Feb. 1927; Feb. 1928-Dec. 1931;
Dec. 1929-Sept. 1930; May 1930-Feb. 1932; Dec. 1931-July 1932;
April 1932-Nov. 1933; Dec. 1933-Aug. 1938. These were essentially
the Flying Boat years. The originals pages were destroyed in Oct.
1977. In the mid-1970s UAC made a big push to get rid of any of
what was considered "excess paper". This was the
result. A extremely rare set of documents even though in
microfilm form. Includes the 14 sheets of microfilm and
print-outs of each of the 700+ pages in a 4-3/4" thick
binder. Due to its size, this item will cost more to mail. Please

Dimensions, Areas, Weights, and other specs plus a side view and
stations. Drawing has completely separated along one of the folds
early on. Evidence of old tape repair remains. Good minus. $40.00

3-view drawing "Sikorsky Twin-Motored Amphibion S-41".
(Drawing No. 3DW 308.) Dated March 11, 1930. Provides
specification details of the aircraft. Note that one of the
distinctive differences between the S-38 and the S-41 is the
cowlings on the S-41's engines. This early drawing does not show
the cowlings. VG. $65.00
[CS0533] 4" x 3-1/4" B&W glass slide of an
artist's drawing of the S-40. Slide was done by the Affiliated
Photographic Co., New York. The slide photo (2-7/8" x
2") has been copied from the Sikorsky press release of the
aircraft and although dated 1933 is from a 1931 picture. (See
item CS0502.) Unusual. $25.00
[CS0534] Sikorsky C-6A
(S-38) negatives. A lot of forty-two (42) 7-3/4" x
9-3/4" original Sikorsky factory negatives of the Sikorsky
C-6A (military version of the S-38). Image size is approximately
7-1/2" x 9-1/2". These photos were apparently used for
a manual on the C-6A. They include several general views and many
detail studio shots of sub-assemblies with part numbers. These
irreplaceable negatives are on nitrate film, which should be kept
away from any flames, sparks, etc. Some negs have a 1930 date
visible. If interested please contact us for a list of the

Definitely a one-of-a-kind item. Each negative is accompanied by
a full-size print. Sold as a set of 42 negatives and prints only.

B
