pinback. Has a 3/16" white border with red center and the
script word 'Curtiss' plus the front view of a high wing 1930's
aircraft. Has the number '17' vibro etched in small brass field.
Makers name unreadable but has initials COLO. Extremely rare.

block for "Wright Aircraft Engines". (Block reads in
reverse, as in a rubber stamp.) Shows a 3/4 view of the J-5
Whirlwind engine with short write-up on how Wright has supported
U.S. Navy programs. Magazine and date of issue is unknown. Circa

[CS1406b] Travel Air Axle Wheel Cap. Cast aluminum with the
intertwined 'T' & 'A' of the Travel Air Co., Wichita, Kansas.
This is a reproduction with the initials "TAK"
stamped into the inside base. (Originals have Part Number (1230)
stamped inside.) Unpainted. $65.00

by Universal Chemists, Eastern Div., Boston, MA. Circa 1920. Unit
is called "Test Master - Aviation Type". Has range of
0-200. 4-1/4" diameter brass frame. Has rubber (hardened)
fitting for 18 mm spark plug holes. Brass frame has several
cracks, else VG. $50.00

is called "Test Master - Aviation Type". Has range of
0-200. 5-1/4" diameter chrome frame. Has rubber (hardened)

[CS1458] Aircraft Octant, Mark III, Mod. 6. Issued circa
1935 and manufactured by Pioneer Instruments Co., Bendix, NJ.
Used by the Navy, mainly in their long range flying boats, for
determining location and maintaining course direction. Marked Bu.
Of Aero. U.S. Navy, it carries the serial number 45-39. Data
plate denotes Patent Numbers and photocopies of (4) different
patent papers dated from 1925-1934 are included with this item. .
The designer of this Octant, V. E. Carbonara, worked for Pioneer
instruments in the 30's. This Octant is the equivalent of the
U.S. Army Air Corps Model A-5. Complete, but light assembly
(which uses one (1) 'D' size battery) does not function. Mounted
on a teak display stand. $120.00
[CS1489a,b,c,d,e] 7/8" pin. Jet aircraft facing towards left.
"Pan American" inscribed along fuselage. Straight 'pin'
is present on back of jet, but missing piece it went into. See

[CS3525] 2" diameter "Fairchild Engines"
medallion. There are (3) 1/2" long cast spikes on rear of
emblem. Circa 1938. VG. $75.00
[CS3614] 2-1/4" diameter company medallion for
"Briggs Aircraft Engines". Shows a gold and black tiger
cloissonned on to a chrome background. No information available
about the company nor when it existed. 1/2" screw post on
back. VG+. $80.00
[CS4034] 2-1/8" (5.5 cm) diameter aluminum hydraulic
oil tank cap from a BMW 003 jet engine. Screw clamp on cap is
labeled: "Oel fur Hydraulik 35L". Measuring stick below
cap was replaced by Pratt &Whitney Aircraft during early
experimental test programs. Mounted on mahogany stand. Overall
height is approx. 12". Circa 1944/45. $275.00

Service" sign for mounting on an automobile bumper. Circa

[CS6075] 7/8" diameter pin-back button commemorating
the dedication of the Corinth Airport. Button shows a picture of
Roscoe Turner and reads: "Corinth Airport Dedication - Col.
Roscoe Turner". Unknown date, probably mid-1930"s. VG.

[CS6160] 1-3/16" wide screw back pin "Crawford
Airplane Co., Venice, Calif". Crawford existed for only a

[CS6161] 2" diameter metal badge from the "Glenn
L. Martin Company, Baltimore". This is an inspectors badge
(65-663 - Inspection). Circa 1939. VG. $45.00
[CS6178] Label and ribbon for officials of the
"Springfield Aerial Pageant - 1928". Blue ribbon with
gold print and pin-backed label with word 'OFFICIAL'. Approx.
4-3/8" long. VG. $40.00
[CS6245] 6-1/2" x 10" 65 piece cardboard puzzle
made in 1932 by the R. B. Davis Co., Hoboken, NJ for the
'Cocomalt' Chocolate Food Drink. Puzzle is of Col. George R.
Hutchinson and his Flying Family imposed on a western U. S. map
background. The puzzle was provided free with every can. The
four-member Hutchinson family became famous by flying, with their
pet lion cub, to every state in the union promoting peace. In
September, 1932 while attempting a flight to Europe in a Sikorsky
S-38 he and his family, plus navigator and photographer crashed
en route to Angmagsallik, Greenland. They survived until being
rescued by burning film strips to keep warm. Puzzle plus original
envelope are framed (17-1/8" x 14-1/8"). $75.00
[CS6318] 5" x 5" Clear plastic Compass Course
Protractor issued by Inter City Aviation, Inc. This was a
gratuity item given out by the airline to its passengers between
Boston and Springfield, MA. This airline only existed between
1932 and April 1933. Very scarce to find anything for this
operator. Includes slip-in envelope with instructions and company
logo. VG. $45.00
[CS7549] Two (2) printer's blocks. Both show 3/4 overhead
views of flying boats. a) Boeing 314 - Single tail version.
Approximately 2" x 1-1/8" x 7/8" deep. b) Douglas

Flying Boat on takeoff taxi. Entitled 'Making History Every Day'.
Poster commemorates the 75th (1916-1991) anniversary of the
company. Metal framed. Issued in 1991 along with a series of
other anniversary posters, this is probably the last flying boat
poster ever issued by this manufacturer. $75.00
[CS8029] 3-1/2" x 4" (2) glass educational slides
by the NY State Ed. Dept., Visual Instruction Div. a) Shows an
S-42 being fueled with British Guyana natives looking on from a
dugout, b) Shows an S-43 of Inter-Island Airways loading
passengers. Small crack to bottom corner of slide 'b', else VG.
