Second Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. New Copy.
Soft Cover. The Dornier 'Wal'
(Whale) was the first all metal flying boat, manufactured in
Italy, Japan, Holland, Spain and the USSR because of the
restrictions imposed on Germany by the Treaty of Versailles.
Overshadowed by its big brother, the Do-X, it is of great
interest for its international production, the technical
innovations, pioneer flights and mail flights to South America
assisted by catapult ships between West Africa and Brazil. The
decision Claude Dornier took to accept the offer by Italian
venture capitalists to construct the Dornier 'Wal' in Marina di
Pisa (Italy), made Dornier in every sense of the word. 222 pages, photos, maps, illustrations. $27.00
