dated 23 June 1928. Letter inquires about Pitcairn Aircraft parts
and P.A. 3 Orowing. Carbon copy response letter attached (no
letterhead) from Pitcairn's Mr. R. R. Bachman. Letter has been

[CS6508] 5-1/2" x 2-3/8" Cardboard ticket plus 3
extra stubs for autogiro flights. All are serial numbered and
issued by the Pitcairn Aeronautical Corporation. Stubs are dated
and autographed or initialed in pencil by various pilots. Full
ticket has penciled initials of pilot (W.E.T.). Stubs bear dates
from 8/34 to 9/37. 9137 stub is later design. Extremely scarce.

[CS6514] 11" x 8-1/2" Single sheet advertisement
for the Silver Brook Auto-Giro. Silver Brook was a coal company
in eastern Pennsylvania. A purchase of 5 tons or more entitled
the purchaser to a free ride in their autogiro. Circa 1935. Quite

"Kellett Autogiro - Happy Landings". Describes how an
autogiro works, why they are safe and the type of airfields they
can work out of that normal aircraft cannot. Pamphlet also
describes the Kellett Model K-2 and its advantages. Circa 1936.

32 page book entitled "The Autogiro". Issued by
Pitcairn-Cierva Autogiro Company of America, Philadelphia, PA.
Describes the development, types and construction design of the
Autogiro. An early classic by the foremost builder of these
unique aircraft. Cloth wrap on spine has deteriorated and is
missing in part. Binding is still tight. Book is Ex-CT State
Library. Usual library marks. Dated 1930. Good condition. $115.00

"The Direct Control Autogiro". Issued by 'The Autogiro
Company of America, Willow Grove, PA'. Describes the theory,
operation and flying of the autogiro. A few sketches but mostly
text. Blue covers. Circa 1930. Booklet has been folded in half.

[CS6521] Two (2) 8-1/2" x 11" sheets with 3-views
of a Kellett Aircraft Corp. autogiro. This was probably from a
presentation or technical report since one sheet is Figure #7.
Giro is not identified but engine is a 3 cylinder type (possibly
Anzani or Szekely). One sheet (side and front views) is on
blueprint type paper, while the other (top view) is a photocopy
(apparently of another blueprint). Circa 1932. VG. $20.00
[CS6522] 8-1/2" x 11" 11 page blueprint report
("Report No. 10") issued by Autogiro Specialties
Company. "Instructions for Erection, Maintenance &
Inspection of Mechanical Starter used on PAA-1 Pitcairn Ship with
Kinner Motor - S-9000". Dated August, 1931 and revised 10
December 1931. It covers items such as inspection, lubrication
and general maintenance of the transmission system of the
autogiro. No illustrations. Somewhat unique. VG. $25.00

been folded in thirds to fit mailing envelope. Staining to back
cover with a few very small areas of damage to paper. Good plus

[CS6525] 9" x 11-3/4" Technical folder entitled
"Cables Covering Experiments on Three Bladed Rotor - 6/27/32
to 9/9/32". Contains 7 carbon copy typewritten pages. First
three pages are the text of 8 cables from Autogiro Company of
America to Juan Cierva, under the title "Cables Covering
Experiments on our First Two Sets of Three Bladed Rotors".
Next four pages are the text of 10 cables between Autogiro and
Cierva and vice-versa. These four pages under the title
"Physical Characteristcs & Specifications. Cierva's New
Type Three Bladed Rotor - C606". Also includes twelve (12)
Western Union cables between Juan Cierva and the Pitcairn
Autogiro Co dated from August 22, 1932 through December 14, 1932
describing the rotor problems and what was felt to be the action
to be taken in correcting them. Also contains some comments from
individuals of more general and personal nature. Unique. VG.

[CS6526] 9" x 11-3/8" Technical folder containing
a 9 page proposal from Visugraphic Pictures of New York City, NY
for a motion picture for the "Pitcairn-Cierva Autogiro
Company of America". Contains some of the script and
proposed method to produce a 22 minute motion picture which was
to demonstrate and explain the operation and performance of the
Autogiro. Dated 24 November 1930. It is not known whether the
film was ever produced. One of a kind. VG. $85.00
